Youth Ministry

St. Luke Youth Ministry offers community involvement and retreat opportunities to middle and high school teens.

For middle school teens, the ministry provides the opportunity to participate in EDGE, a Life Teen program. This is an out of classroom experience that allows the middle school students to encounter Christ. The mission of EDGE is to lead students closer to Christ. EDGE Nights run from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM on Sunday nights. The night is filled with community and fun. Contact: Deacon Richard de Hoyos, Middle School Minister, at (210) 433-2777 ext. 107 or daniel.vasquez@stlukecatholic.org.

For high school teens, the ministry provides the opportunity to participate in Life Teen. The mission of Life Teen is to lead teens closer to Christ, connecting them to the life of the entire parish, and infusing the surrounding community with the light of Christ. Life Teen meetings start with the 4pm Youth Mass on Sunday, followed by a gathering with fellowship, food and fun in the Parish Hall from 5-7:30pm.

The Youth Ministry also offers two co-ed teen ACTS retreats. One is for incoming Freshman and the other is for Youth each summer. Youth Ministry also provides opportunities for outreach with Habitat for Humanity, visiting nursing homes, and assisting with games and sports activities with children at the Inner City Development Center. Volunteer opportunities include Core Members Program and meal preparations for Life Teen, adult chaperones for retreats and outings.
